California High School Proficiency Examination

The CHSPE (not to be confused with the exit exam or "CAHSEE") is a rigorous examination aligned with California's high school curriculum standards.  Students may take the CHSPE if they are 16 years of age or older on the test date or have completed the first semester of grade ten.  Successful test takers will earn the legal equivalent of a high school diploma from the state (NOT A BOHS DIPLOMA).  With parental permission, these students may leave school to pursue career goals or other educational options.
