GENERAL INFORMATION

SENIOR PURCHASES;
The items listed below may be purchased individually or as a special senior package, and will be on sale in the activities office 
beginning May 2. All purchases made at BOHS beginning June 1st must be in cash only
$10.00 Senior Luau – in the senior quad Friday June 2nd. 
$20.00 Senior Breakfast - 8.00 a.m. Thursday June 15th @ the Embassy Suites in Brea.
A chance to enjoy breakfast with fellow seniors, hear from class officers and preview the senior video. Deadline to purchase breakfast tickets is June 7th.
 
Special Senior Package:
$25.00 Senior Memories Package -Includes the senior luau and breakfast. This package is only available May 2-26.

*Please note: The above senior events were not included in any of the spirit packages that were purchased during fall registration. May 2nd is the first opportunity to purchase these senior events; no prior sales have been made!


GRAD-NITE tickets may be purchased online at www.bohsgradnite.com.

COMMENCEMENT TICKETS:
✓ Tickets will be provided to graduates for their families – eight (8) per graduate. Seniors    will receive their tickets following the senior meeting on June 7th providing the student has no school debts or graduation obligations.
✓In the event of inclement weather, the commencement exercises may be moved to the BOHS main gym and only the four (4) “RAIN” tickets will be honored. All 8 tickets will be honored at Wildcat Stadium.
✓ Everyone attending graduation must have a ticket. Lap-sitting infants will not require a ticket.
✓There are no extra tickets available. We realize that some families may require more tickets and therefore, we encourage you to have your child ask other classmates for extras that their family may not need. (Should any extra tickets become available, we will distribute them to seniors only at the end of graduation rehearsal.)

CAPS AND GOWNS:
✓ Caps and gowns will be distributed following the senior meeting on Wednesday June 7, if all debts and graduation obligations have been cleared.
✓ Caps and gowns may be purchased from SoCalGrad on-line at www.socalgrad.com until the end of May. Purchases made after Wednesday June 7, must be made at the So Cal grad’s office located at 4879 E. La Palma Ave. #205, Anaheim. 
✓ The cap and gown purchased for graduation is yours to keep. If you have other children in the family who will be graduating from the high school, we encourage you to save the cap and gown set for them. However, if you would like to donate yours you may drop it off at the school office.  

COMMENCEMENT PHOTOGRAPHS:
✓ We have made arrangements for a special graduation photo. South Coast Photographic will photograph each graduate as they receive
their diploma. Information on how to view and order this photo will be included in the student’s diploma envelope. Or you can go to    southcoastphotographic.com. 

PARKING AT GRADUATION:
✓ Parking on campus will be by parking pass only. Each graduating senior will receive one parking pass at our June 7th meeting. 
    Additional parking passes will be distributed to seniors only on a first come basis at the
end of graduation rehearsal. 

GUIDANCE INFORMATION:
✓ Any student who lacks the required 230 credits or has not completed all graduation requirements will not be allowed to participate in the  
    graduation ceremony.
Graduation Status: If you have any questions relating to current grades, please contact your student’s teacher directly. If you have questions regarding the graduation status of your student, please call the Guidance Office at (714) 990-7850 ext. 1214. Parents of seniors who may be in danger of failing one or more classes at the time of the third quarter grading period will be notified by mail. Students have been notified in person. As always, check the parent portal to keep abreast of your student’s current grades.
✓Transcript Requests: All seniors planning to attend college must request a transcript directly at www.parchment.com. Parchment will send their transcript to the college indicated once final grades are posted.
    Questions regarding transcripts may be directed to our Registrar at (714) 990-7850 ext. 1217. Parents and students are encouraged to speak directly to their teachers regarding their academic status in each course.

LOST BOOKS, LIBRARY BOOKS, TEXTBOOKS, EQUIPMENT AND OTHER DEBTS:
✓ It is the student’s responsibility to “clear” his/her record prior to graduation. An updated list of student debts and students who need to    
    serve detention or Saturday school will be available in the activities office and at several locations around campus and will be updated 
    regularly. Students are not allowed to take final exams until they turn in appropriate textbooks to teachers. 




SCHEDULE OF EVENTS


Senior Awards Night: Thursday June 1- 7:00 p.m. – Performing Arts Center
Our senior awards night at Brea Olinda is a ceremony to honor those seniors who have earned outstanding distinction in areas of scholarship, service, and leadership. Seniors who have earned recognition, along with their family, will receive a special invitation to this presentation; however all are welcome to come support these outstanding students.

Senior Luau: Friday June 2 – Lunch period. Ticket is $10.00 
Served in the senior quad. Tickets may be purchased May 2- 26. This is a catered event therefore tickets cannot be purchased the day of the Luau. Students who receive free or reduced lunch do not receive a free luau lunch.

Senior Class Meeting: Wednesday June 7 - Periods 3 and 4
We will discuss commencement and Grad-Nite. Following the meeting, each senior will be checked for debts and graduation status.  Students who are debt-free and have completed all graduation requirements will be issued their pre-purchased cap/gown and graduation tickets at this time. 

Senior Breakfast: Thursday June 15  8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Ticket is $20.00
Senior breakfast will be held at the Brea Embassy Suites in Brea. Tickets cannot be purchased after June 7th. This is a full breakfast, served in a semi-formal sit-down setting. Seniors are encouraged to dress up for this event. Activities include speeches from class officers, special awards, and door prizes. Students are free for the rest of the day.



Friday, June 16, 2017 - Graduation Day:
BOHS Wildcat Stadium 


8:00 a.m. - Mandatory Commencement Practice at Wildcat Stadium. Those who miss practice will not be permitted to participate in commencement. Dismissal time is approximately 10:00 a.m. Students are free for the remainder of the day.

4:15 p.m. - Seniors are arrive to line up at the varsity baseball field. Students will be checked to see that they are not carrying items that might destroy the dignity of the ceremony. Parents are encouraged to assist us in relaying this message to their student. 

5:00 p.m. - Commencement exercises. Tickets will be provided to graduates for their family - eight (8) tickets per graduate. In case of rain, the graduation ceremony will be held in our main gym, and only the 4 tickets marked rain will be honored. All eight tickets will be honored at Wildcat Stadium. Commencement highlights the school year for the entire community. It is a formal ceremony which is very important to students, teachers, and parents. Students and guests are asked to refrain from activities that detract from the dignity and significance of commencement. Any student “suspected of using or having used alcohol or any controlled substance” will not be permitted to participate in commencement. Parents are asked to remain in their seats until all graduates have exited. At the conclusion of the ceremony, students will exit the field and return to the assembly area to pick up their diploma from their counselor. Once they have their diploma in hand they are free to join their families.


10:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. - Senior Grad-Nite Party - BOHS Campus - $150.00. Please go to www.bohsgradnite.com for detailed information and to purchase tickets. This event is for BOHS and BCHS GRADUATING SENIORS ONLY - no dates or guests are allowed. 

Grad-Nite t-shirts will be distributed at the commencement practice to those who have purchased a ticket. This t-shirt is your “ticket” for admission. Dress is casual. Ticket price includes all food, inter-active games, and entertainment. NO extra money is needed. 
DO NOT bring purses or yearbooks, as we have very limited storage. 

Grad-Nite is a drug and alcohol free celebration. Any student “suspected of using or having used alcohol or any controlled substance” will not be permitted to remain at Grad-Nite. The Grad-Nite fee will NOT be refunded to anyone sent home because of drinking or use of other substances.
