Principal's Message

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Brea Olinda High School, home of the Wildcats! It is an honor to serve the students, staff, and community of this National Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished School.

BOHS excels as a comprehensive public high school. We are outstanding in the four “A’s”-academics, activities, athletics, and the arts. Brea Olinda graduates dot the campuses of the top public and private colleges and universities across the country because the school provides a rigorous curriculum. The activities program has been recognized several times as a model program dedicated to giving students opportunities to expand leadership skills and community service involvement. BOHS athletic teams have won perhaps more league championships than any other Orange County school over the past quarter century; in addition, Brea Olinda athletes exude the positive characteristics and sportsmanship expected from the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS). Brea students excel in the arts, including a regionally-recognized model Photography program.
The guidance counseling services are arguably the best in the nation. The counseling staff is the only high school in the nation to be recognized four times as a Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program (RAMP). The school provides one of the smallest counselor-to-student case loads and is organized to give the most complete services to students and families. We also have one of the most cohesive alliances with ROP in the county.
Brea Olinda’s well-deserved strong academic reputation does not happen without an incredible teaching and support staff. BOHS has produced County and State Teachers of the Year and routinely produces well-prepared students for life after high school. The office and maintenance staff assists students and teachers in ways almost too numerous to mention, but all one needs to do is take a tour of the school to see how much pride is present. The district administration and staff has a complete service motto—“What can we do to serve you?”
When all is said and done, probably the most important aspect of any high school’s success is parent involvement. Brea parents volunteer an incredible amount of time serving the school in a variety of capacities. This tremendous labor of love is very much appreciated by everyone associated with BOHS.
Again, welcome to the Brea Olinda High School home page. We trust that you find the links associated helpful to your search. I hope you have a fantastic day!
Positively,
