On Tuesday 9/22 BOHS hosted With Hope, suicide prevention presentations for all 10th and 12th graders in the PAC. With Hope, The Amber Craig Memorial Foundation started as a local organization spreading the message that suicide is preventable by never promise to keeping this secret.
With Hope Foundation is committed to supporting schools' efforts in suicide prevention through education. Their school-based programs provide students with facts about suicide, alert them to suicide risk factors and warning signs, and provide them with help-seeking information for themselves or for others. These programs highlight protective factors and incorporate a variety of self-care strategies.

Friday 9/18 BOHS was honored to host Constitution Day. Constitution Day is presented by the Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County. To celebrate Judge Lindsey Martinez spoke to our U.S. Government classes on the topic of Separation of Powers.
Constitution Day complies with federal and state government mandates requiring that educational institutions celebrate Constitution Day. The outreach program annually places volunteer judges and attorneys in classrooms across Orange County to discuss topical constitutional issues relevant to the students.

Thanks to the Brea Korea Sister City Association (@bksca_in_usa) for their generous donation for our Link Crew Program. Each year our Link Crew students host a group of students from our sister city and the visiting students attend classes and get to experience what life is like at an American high school. It is a great program that benefits students and we are honored to host them.
Have you heard about "Linking Peers" at BOHS? These students are volunteers who are taking on the task of welcoming students who are new to BOUSD. While most of our students come from BJHS, not all do. So our Link Crew team is implementing Linking Peers to help bridge the gap to ensure these new students feel welcomed into the WILD.
Thursday at lunch we had over 50 students that were able to connect with a peer on campus before the end of their third week of being a Wildcat. Hopefully the connections that are being made will help them adjust to their new high school and district.
Linking Peers has plenty more lunch activities planned for their "buddies" this year. We look forward to seeing these connections blossom.

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and bus seating is limited, so families are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
The application will close from July 16-24 to allow transportation staff to assign routes and produce bus passes.
📣📆Applications will reopen from July 25- Aug. 7 and close again on Aug. 8
Additional application windows will open for the year based on seat availability.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Brea Olinda High School alumna and longtime educator and coach Sharen Caperton was inducted into the Orange County Softball Hall of Fame during ceremonies held at Bill Barber Park in Irvine. Between games of the annual Orange County All-Star Softball Game, “Cape,” as she is affectionately known by generations of students and athletes, was surrounded by family, former students, colleagues, and friends as she received this well-deserved honor.
Caperton dedicated 38 years of service to Brea Olinda High School as a physical education teacher, coach, and athletic leader. During her remarkable career, she coached seven different sports and served as the head softball coach for 24 years.
Under her leadership, the Wildcats compiled 344 victories, captured 17 league championships, and made 18 CIF playoff appearances. Taking over the softball program in the mid-1980s, Caperton quickly established herself as one of the most respected figures in Orange County softball. Her impact extended far beyond Brea Olinda High School. She helped create some of the county’s earliest softball tournaments and was instrumental in launching the Orange County North/South All-Star Softball Game, an event that continues to celebrate the region’s top players.
Even after retiring from coaching, Caperton’s commitment to the sport has never wavered. She continues to serve on the CIF Softball Advisory Committee and volunteers her time annually at CIF championship events, helping support and advance the game she loves.
In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Caperton played a significant role in developing
girls’ athletics at Brea Olinda High School through her service as Girls’ Athletic Director. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment to student-athletes have left a lasting legacy that
continues to impact generations of Wildcats.
