The Brea Olinda Unified School District Board of Education has appointed Kenneth Cummings as the new Athletic Director at Brea Olinda High School, effective July 1, 2026. The Board announced his appointment during the July 25, 2026 Regular Board Meeting.

Cummings brings extensive experience in athletic administration, coaching, and education, with a proven commitment to supporting student-athletes both on and off the field. In his current position, he oversees all aspects of the school’s athletic program, including scheduling, budgeting, facilities management, coach supervision and evaluation, student-athlete eligibility, transportation, compliance, and community relations.

Throughout his career, Cummings has focused on building athletic programs that promote academic success, character development, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. As both an athletic administrator and varsity coach, he has worked collaboratively with school leaders, coaches, families, and community partners to create positive and inclusive athletic experiences for students. His experience as a league president has further strengthened his leadership and ability to advocate for student-athletes while fostering collaboration among schools.

“We are excited to welcome Ken to the Brea Olinda family,” said Superintendent Brinda Leon. “His collaborative leadership style and proven track record in athletic administration make him an outstanding addition to BOHS to continue the legacy of our strong athletics program. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our student-athletes, coaches, and entire Wildcats community.”

Cummings holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Teaching Physical Education from San Jose State University and a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine.

His official start date will be in July as BOHS prepares for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
