Brea Olinda High School is going LIVE on CBS Los Angeles Morning News!
CBS Los Angeles News will bring its cameras to Brea Olinda High School on Monday, Sept. 28, as part of its recurring “Class Act” segment, which highlights outstanding schools and student communities across Southern California.
From 7 to 11 a.m., CBS LA News will broadcast live from the BOHS campus, showcasing the people, programs and Wildcat spirit that make Brea Olinda High School a special place.
Viewers can expect to see a wide variety of BOHS programs and activities, including athletics, performing arts, robotics, Building Industry Technology, Culinary Arts, ASB, student clubs, Wildcat Medical and much more. The live broadcast will feature both quick live cutaways and longer, 2- to 3-minute feature stories highlighting BOHS students and staff.
How Students Can Participate & Prepare:
Show Your School Pride: We encourage all students to wear their *BOHS spirit wear *on Monday!
Early Morning Broadcast Group (6:45 AM Arrival): Students pre-selected by staff to participate in the early 7:00 AM broadcast segment should arrive at the front of campus by 6:45 AM. Light breakfast items and water will be provided.
Student Attendance & Check-In (5 Star): Participating student speakers and participants will check in and out with an Administrator via 5 Star so we can account for everyone on campus. Only pre-selected, officially excused student presenters will have class absences cleared by the attendance office during filming.
Zero Period & Morning Spectators: Students without a zero-period class are welcome to come to campus early to cheer on their peers and join the fun before school! However, all students must report to their regular 1st period class on time.
Media Opt-Out / Privacy: As always, parent consent is respected. If you prefer that your student does not appear on camera, please let them know ahead of time. Teachers will ensure any non-participating students are given comfortable alternate accommodations during classroom visits.
The CBS LA News visit provides an exciting opportunity for BOHS students to share their experiences, talents and accomplishments with viewers throughout Southern California.
