The Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD) Board of Education has appointed William “Joey” Davis to serve as the new principal of Brea Olinda High School. Davis was previously appointed to serve as an assistant principal in April but will now assume the role of principal starting July 1.
"I am so honored to be selected as the principal of Brea Olinda High School. Brea is a wonderful community and I look forward to serving the community for the 2024-25 school year and years to come,” said Davis. The role of high school principal is a great responsibility and I hope I can serve the school as well as the many others who served before me.”
Davis succeeds Dr. Josh Porter who announced his anticipated resignation in April following his acceptance of a promotion at a nearby school district.

He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership that will undoubtedly enrich our district. With a proven track record in public school education, William “Joey” Davis brings more than seven years of experience serving as a principal of El Dorado High School in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Prior to his role as a principal, he served as the director of Assessment and Accountability and as an assistant principal at Valencia High School. Davis' major responsibilities included the effective facilitation of STAR and Advanced Placement testing, a WASC accreditation self-study, and a variety of responsibilities related to operating a comprehensive high school. Additionally, Davis has taught multiple subjects throughout his teaching career, has coached varsity softball and basketball, and served as an instructional dean at Walnut High School.
Davis holds a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Fullerton.
Davis will assume his role as principal on July 1.
