Community Resources Available

We will be checking emails remotely from home.  Please encourage your student to reach out to their respective teachers with any questions regarding distance learning.  We are also here to assist you through this time of fluid information and uncertainty.

We understand that this is a difficult time.  If you or your student are in need of community resources please consult your medical insurance provider or call 211 Orange County at 888-600-4357 or dial 211 or access their website at  211 Orange County is a toll-free, 24/7 comprehensive information and referral system that links Orange County residents to community health and human services and support.

Distance Learning Resources

To support our students and families, we plan on implementing the following services. Please keep in mind that this is a very fluid situation and dates, times and services are subject to change.

Chromebook Checkout Chromebooks will be available for students who do not have access to a device at home via checkout at their school site. For questions related to Chromebook home use and checkout, please see the Program Guide and Frequently Asked Questions documents attached to this message. **Pick-up information including dates/times will be sent directly to families from their school site.**

Families and Students without Wifi Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband​ and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

Free After School Tutoring

Need some extra help in your classes? Come on down to our free after school tutoring in the College & Career Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:45-3:45 pm to get help in ALL SUBJECTS by our certificated math and science teachers. Tutoring will begin on Tuesday, September 10th!

Parent Education Series: School Safety 9/24

Please mark your calendars: BOUSD is partnering with the Brea Police Department and the Brea Fire Department to host an important community meeting on the topic of School Safety, Preparedness and Prevention. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 24 at 6pm in the Brea Olinda High School in the Performing Arts Center.

Young Leaders Program

The Young Leaders Program is designed for high school juniors and seniors who reside in the 4th Supervisorial District, which includes the cities of Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, and portions of Anaheim and Buena Park. Future Leaders attend a mandatory monthly meeting where they are exposed to experiences that nurture their leadership potential and prepare them for their future in college and/or the work force. The program provides students with firsthand experience and better understanding of how County government works. Baseball Tryouts!

Baseball Tryouts will be held Wednesday, November 28th, Thursday, November 29th, and Friday, November 30th from 3:00pm - 5:00pm on the Varsity Field at BOHS.
