Welcome to Mrs. Givenrod's Class!!!

Welcome to Mrs. Givenrod's class!  I am an Adapted Physical Education Specialist in BOUSD and I teach Adapted PE and/or Unified PE at 5 Brea schools.  This is my 16th year teaching in Brea and I am so excited to start another awesome year in Adapted and Unified PE!  I attended Cal Poly Pomona for my Bachelors in Psychology, my General and Adapted Physical Education credentials, and again for my Masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Adapted Physical Education.  Go Broncos!!  I was honored to be named the ParentingOC Magazine's Top Teacher in Orange County for 2020, the 2020 CAHPERD Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year and I am the 2022 SHAPE America Western District Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year.  I have a wonderful family which includes my husband Mark, daughters Lily (10) and Olivia (7), and Great Dane puppy Princess Leia.  I feel so lucky to be here in Brea and can't wait to have an amazing year!

 

I am so excited for those who have chosen Unified PE as an elective!!  This class provides an opportunity for students to learn about themselves and learn about others.  Students in this class will be a mentor coach to the Adapted PE students in Mrs. Givenrod's class.  This class will provide students extra practice and work on their own gross motor skills, while also learning about people of different ability levels, and improving on their own leadership skills.  If you are interested in joining the Unified PE class, please print out the application that is below and turn it in to Mrs. Givenrod's box.
