Principal's Message

Wildcats~

I’m excited to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! We’re thrilled to have several outstanding new staff members joining our BOHS team:

Marcy Hail – Culinary Arts
Tiffany Hou – Physics, Engineering & Robotics
Michelle Do – Special Education
Briana Coque – School Social Worker
Michelle Sivertsen – Office Assistant (Counseling)
Catherine Ramirez – Attendance Clerk
Josie Vasquez – Librarian
Melissa Castro – Mental Health Specialist
Kevin Sprague – Long-Term Substitute, Social Science

We’re also celebrating some important achievements from the 2024–2025 school year. Our preliminary CAASPP results show growth in all three tested areas – language arts, math and science. We will provide the specifics as soon as we are allowed. Attendance improved slightly, and our AP pass rates rose as well—even as more students took more exams. We also had a successful midterm WASC visit last spring. These results reflect the hard work and dedication of both our teachers and students.

Looking ahead to this year, we want to highlight a few key updates:

New Bell Schedule
Our updated bell schedule is now posted on the BOHS website, and we’ve included it below. While start times remain the same, please note that dismissal is now at 3:19 PM.

Continued Focus on Community and Wellness
As we begin the new year, we know that excitement may be mixed with some anxiety. Last year, our student surveys consistently showed that students feel connected, engaged, and a strong sense of belonging at BOHS. We’re committed to supporting and growing that culture.

In addition, we are partnering with the With Hope Foundation, a suicide prevention organization. This fall, all 10th-grade students will receive their presentation, which will become an annual event for future students. There will also be presentations for both parents and staff prior to the student sessions. These events are scheduled for September, and since the topic is difficult for some families, we wanted to give you early notice.

We are so proud of our students, staff, and the supportive community that surrounds BOHS. Thank you for being our partners in education—we’re looking forward to an amazing year together.
