Welcome to AVID! AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society. In AVID we focus on writing to learn, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading to learn (WICOR). The skills AVID students learn are beneficial in school as well as in college, career, and life! Our students are highly motivated to succeed and improve themselves and their work.

Below is a sample of potential coursework a student may take and is not intended to be a prescribed course of study.  Course selections should be tailored to support and balance the student’s individual interests and post-secondary goals.   Grades, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, and guidance counseling are essential tools not only in determining proper placement but also in promoting a healthy balance among all facets of student life.
