Join us for a special Screening of the documentary Angst

Please join us on Tuesday, October 22nd from 6-7:30 PM in the Multipurpose Room at Olinda Elementary School for a special screening of the documentary Angst: Raising Awareness around Anxiety. Angst is a new documentary that explores anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. Admission is free and this film is recommended for adults and children ages 10 and up.

Advanced Placement (AP) Testing

Believe it or not, we are entering AP Test Registration already! College Board has revamped the ordering process, which opens opportunity for students and teachers to access resources through their myap.collegeboard.org accounts. Another big change is FALL COMMITMENT. Students will register for their AP exams through the Google Form (see link below) by October 22, which BOHS staff will use to confirm their AP test registration in the new College Board online system. Students must pay for their tests by October 31st. AP exams will still be administered the first two weeks of May. See below for AP test registration deadlines, costs, and resources.

Free After School Tutoring

Need some extra help in your classes? Come on down to our free after school tutoring in the College & Career Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:45-3:45 pm to get help in ALL SUBJECTS by our certificated math and science teachers. Tutoring will begin on Tuesday, September 10th!

PSAT- 10/30

The PSAT will be held on Wednesday, October 30th for all 10th and 11th-grade students, absolutely FREE! October 30th will be a minimum day for ALL students. Please see our minimum day schedule on the websites for times. Freshmen and Seniors will still report to normal classes on the minimum day schedule. See the flyer for more information and be sure to be on the look out for emails with additional information!

Link Crew Tailgate

All freshmen students are invited to attend the Link Crew Tailgate on Friday, 10/4 for games, pizza, snow cones, and a chance to win a free ticket to the Homecoming dance on 10/19! All freshmen that attend the event will receive a wristband for free admission into the football game. Students must bring their ID to participate.

Parent Education Series: School Safety 9/24

Please mark your calendars: BOUSD is partnering with the Brea Police Department and the Brea Fire Department to host an important community meeting on the topic of School Safety, Preparedness and Prevention. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 24 at 6pm in the Brea Olinda High School in the Performing Arts Center.

Young Leaders Program

The Young Leaders Program is designed for high school juniors and seniors who reside in the 4th Supervisorial District, which includes the cities of Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, and portions of Anaheim and Buena Park. Future Leaders attend a mandatory monthly meeting where they are exposed to experiences that nurture their leadership potential and prepare them for their future in college and/or the work force. The program provides students with firsthand experience and better understanding of how County government works. More information and the application for the Young Leaders Program can be found below.
